The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of The American Legion together form the Legion Family.

Veterans and their family members join the American Legion Family for many reasons. All three organizations share a strong commitment to preserving American traditions and values, enhancing the lives of our nation's children, and supporting veterans and their families. Above all, we focus on instilling the principles of good citizenship. The American Legion is the leading advocate for veteran affairs, championing better pay for active-duty personnel, improving housing for their families, and ensuring the VA's medical system provides excellent care for veterans. Beyond its advocacy in Congress, The American Legion offers camaraderie and support among veterans, their spouses, and family members, creating a robust community built on shared experiences and a deep understanding of the challenges of military service.
