Following the family traditions of his father, grandfather, and several uncles. Chris joined the Army as a Cavalry Scout in June 1981. In 1988, Chris reclassified to career counseling duties and served until retiring in 2006 with over 25 years of service. During his years of service, Chris served at Forts Knox, Hood, and Bragg. His overseas assignments include Germany, Alaska, and Panama.

Chris originally joined the American Legion at Post 1, Paris, France in July 1984.He joined Post 116 in 2007 and has served as Finance Officer since January 2015.

Chris has served in many roles since joining the post including Scholarship and Finance Committee Chairman, Rental Manager, and on the Rec Room Committee. He has also assisted in several recurring fundraising events hosted by the post. In 2017, Chris was selected as the Post Legionnaire of the Year.

Chris is married and has three children and two grandchildren.
