Troop 75

HELPING YOUTH IS A KEY TO BUILDING A MORE CONSCIENTIOUS, RESPONSIBLE, AND PRODUCTIVE SOCIETY

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations, providing programs for young people that build character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For more than 100 years, Boy Scouts of America has helped build future leaders by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.

Our troop is chartered through Fuquay-Varina American Legion Post 116.

We currently have approximately 30 scouts of various ranks. The most unique trait about our troop is how active we are. We meet weekly on Monday evenings from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the American Legion Post 116 in Fuquay Varina. Our troop travels on at least one trip per month, either camping or hiking at different destinations.

Troop 75’s Month

-Troop Scribe, Ryan Buchwald

The month of June and July have been a very eventful and fun month for the troop. To start off, for the last meeting of June we held our annual ice cream meeting at Sunni Skies ice cream parlor, and while we were there, we also held our troop elections to end off our month. For July, our troop attended Camp Boddie for the week. While I, myself, did not attend but I’ve heard nothing but positive comments about how good the camp was and how much fun all the scouts had. After summer camp we had our normal Monday evening meetings. Then our legion had a family day which was a blast for me and the other scouts that attended and volunteered. My favorite part was when we all got to dunk the new post commander, Mr. Jerry, he has been a scout leader for as long as I can remember. So to say the least, all of us scouts had a great, fun month while we all get to experience our new positions in our troop and we are looking forward to our camp Lejeune beach trip next month and more to come trips and merit badges.
