William C. Slater Sr. was elected this year to the position of 2nd Vice at Post 116.

 

Following in the family traditions of his father and brother, William entered the military as a Private in 1974. Following his schooling with the Army Security Agency, William was stationed with the ASA at multi places in the world. He continued to serve with ASA, INSOM and NSA and finished his military service at Ft Meade, MD in 1987 as an SFC.

 

William C. Slater Sr. Joined the Legion in 2012 and joined Post 116 in 2012. Since joining Post 116, William C. Slater Sr. has served in many roles. He has served as Post Quartermaster, Sgt at Arms, Membership Committee, Rental Chair, Riders Membership chair,Finance committee, Recreational Room Committee, Building and Grounds Committee.

 

William C. Slater Sr. has also served at the Department level as Sgt at Arms, and Junior Shooting Program committee.

 

Family : Wife Celeste Slater, one son William Jr., two daughters Jacqueline and Jennifer Which are and have been members of Post 116. Have seven grandchildren.
